Warwick Conservation Area

The Warwick Conservation Area is operated by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority. Well treed lots in a rural setting make Warwick the ideal campground for quiet camping in a family atmosphere. Warwick features large serviced sites, a family group area and a swimming pool.

There is wide variety of recreation activities offered throughout the summer. Warwick is especially handy for our American visitors. Located just 10 minutes off Hwy. 402 at Warwick Village. For more information call 519-849-6770 or visit www.scrca.on.ca

RECREATION - PARKS

The Township of Warwick has six active municipal parks within its boundaries. They are:

Centennial Park (Watford) - 101 Centennial Ave. (community hall, 2 softball diamonds with lights - 1 without; playground equipment; soccer field; quarter mile track; jumping pits; pitching machine; horsehoe pits; outdoor pavilion; washrooms and concession booth)

Warwick Park - 6889 Egremont Road (softball diamond, outdoor pavilion, playground equipment, washrooms and concession booth)

Tennis Courts - Simcoe St., Watford (one tennis court, ball hockey court)

Sunken Gardens - Nauvoo Road, Watford (sponsored by the Rotary Club of Watford and maintained by the Watford/ Warwick Horticultural Society) These beautiful gardens include: a hosta garden, rose garden, season flower gardens, a beautiful white arbor with sitting bench. This spot is a used quite frequently for wedding or family pictures. Even a full wedding service has been done here. The pavilion is also used for a picnic area. Bookings of the gardens for weddings should be arranged through the Arena by calling 519-876-2808.

Memorial Park - Centennial Ave., Watford, across from the Arena (sponsored by the Watford/Warwick Horticultural Society) These gardens consist of a variety of trees that have been planted in memory of loved ones from our community. To purchase a tree and memorial plaque please call 519-876-2446. In the spring each tree is surrounded by a host of daffodils - extremely beautiful! Rental of the park is handled through the Arena by calling 519-876-2808.

Bluebird Parkette - corner of Nauvoo Road and Ontario Street, in the centre of town. This sitting parkette has several park benches surrounded by a variety of flower gardens. There is also a clock tower, which includes a community calendar. This was part of a Trillium Grant in 2000. The gardens are maintained by the Watford/Warwick Horticultrual Society.

Sunset Park - Good picnic area with lots of shade trees.

RECREATION - HALLS

Warwick Township has two community halls:

CENTENNIAL HALL - 101 Centennial Ave., Watford

and located at Centennial Park just south of the Arena. This facility can be licensed for up to 300 people. Caterers welcome to use our fully serviced kitchen. It is perfect for weddings, banquets, meetings, etc. This facility it handicapped accessible with handicapped washrooms. Rentals are handled through the Arena by calling 876-2808.

WARWICK HALL - 7074 Egremont Road

and located beside the Warwick Fire Hall. This facility is used for small receptions, such as card parties, neighbourhoud showers, funeral lunches. There is full kitchen facilities available. Because of the stairs, there is a chairlift available, if required at the time of rental. Rentals are handled through the Township Municipal Office by calling 849-3926.

RECREATION - ARENA

The Warwick Township Arena is located at 61 Centennial Ave., Watford. It as constructed in 1972 and has arena seating capacity of 1200. The hall upstairs can be licensed up to 200 people and used for small receptions or parties.

The Arena is host of the International Silver Stick Pee Wee and Bantam Hockey Tournament every December and January.

Skating and hockey programs are conducted through the Watford Minor Hockey and Watford Figure Skating Clubs.

There are also: Men and ladies recreational hockey leagues.

During the summer months the arena is used for ball hockey. Presently there is a womens league, a men's league and a youth league. For further information, call the Arena at 876-2808.
