The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 87 kilometres of paved roads and 125 kilometres of unpaved roads in the Township of Warwick.
Emergencies
For after-hour emergencies (water main breaks, storms, branches over the roadway, winter road maintenance, etc.) please contact:
- The Public Works emergency cell at 519-490-5684.
- The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) at 1-888-522-0117 for all emergencies related to water and sewers.
Street Lighting
Please report any streetlight issues to the Public Works Department.
If the municipal gateway sign lights are flickering, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 519-876-2808.
Municipal Drains
Municipal drains are an important part of stormwater management for the rural areas of our municipality. They help preserve and maintain a strong environment for the agricultural regions in the Township of Warwick. No alteration of a municipal drain can take place without the prior approval of the Drainage Superintendent.
Direct all requests for drainage improvements and maintenance to the Drainage Superintendent. You may fill out a Drain Maintenance Request form, a Drain Improvement Request form, an Abandonment of a Drain form, or a Petition for a New Drain. Please return your form(s) to the Township Office at 5280 Nauvoo Road, Watford.
Summer Maintenance
Summer maintenance activities include:
- Brush clean up;
- Catch basins maintenance;
- Ditching;
- Dust control practices;
- Grading;
- Pavement patching;
- Road side mowing;
- Gravel resurfacing;
- Road patrols;
- Sidewalks maintenance; and
- Tree removal.
Winter Maintenance
Winter maintenance activities include:
- Snow plowing and snow removal;
- Sanding and salting; and
- Sidewalk plowing.
