Billing

All water and sewer billing is completed by Bluewater Power. Rural areas are billed quarterly and urban areas are billed monthly. For information regarding billing, please contact Bluewater Power directly at (519) 337-8201.

Water and Sewer

Lambton Area Water Supply System (LAWSS) supplies safe drinking water to the Township of Warwick. Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) operates and maintains the Township water and sewer distribution system.

The Ontario Clean Water Agency has been accredited as Operating Authorities of the Township of Warwick's Drinking Water System, which is a requirement of the Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program. In order meet accreditation requirements, OCWA has a Quality and Environmental Management System. The Quality and Environmental Management System is documented in the system's Operational Plan. A copy of the most current Operational Plan can be made available upon request.

Furthermore, all annual reports for the water systems are available upon request.

Repairs

Call OCWA at 1-888-522-0117 to shut the water off at the road to do a repair. Property owners are responsible for any waterlines from the curb stop at the road to their house and any water lines connected to their water meter. The Township is only responsible for the meter.

Sump Pump Disconnect and Backwater Installation Grant Program

As of November 14, 2023, the Township of Warwick will be offering a Sump Pump Disconnect and Backwater Valve Installation Grant Program to residents in high risk areas within the Township. The program will allow residents to apply for a grant of up to $3,000.00 to help cover the costs of having a backwater valve installed and/or having your sump pump disconnected from the sanitary sewer.

Removing sump pumps from the sanitary sewer will reduce the likelihood of the sewer becoming overwhelmed during a rainfall event. The installation of a backwater valve will reduce the risk of sewage entering into a dwelling if a sanitary sewer becomes overwhelmed.

An application package was made available at the Township office on November 14, 2023 for anyone who wishes to apply for the program. The Township will review and approve each application on a case-by-case basis, providing all requirements of the application are met, with preference being given to homes located in high risk areas of the municipality that have a history of wastewater backups.

The Township will accept applications with installations of backwater valves and/or sump pump disconnects dating back to August 23, 2023.
