Warwick Township Council approves additional $30,000 towards Sump Pump Disconnect and Backwater Valve Installation Grant Program

At its regular meeting on Monday, October 7, 2024, Warwick Township Council voted to allocate an additional $30,000 toward the Sump Pump Disconnect and Backwater Valve Installation Grant Program for eligible losses incurred in the last two major rain events.
The Sump Pump Disconnect and Backwater Installation Grant Program allows residents to apply for a grant of up $3,000.00 to help cover the cost of having a backwater valve installed and/or sump pump disconnected from the sanitary sewer.
Township staff review and approve applications on a case-by-case basis, providing all requirements of the application are met. Preference will be given to homes located in the high-risk areas of the municipality that have a history of wastewater backups. Applications will be accepted for installations of backwater valves and/or sump pump disconnects dating back to August 23, 2023. Applications, and support information on the application process, are available at the Township Office.
Council has committed to consider funding this program during the 2025 Budget review.
