Twin Creeks Landfill – Community Notice

We understand that ongoing odour issues from the Twin Creeks Landfill are affecting the quality of life for many residents — and Warwick Township Council hears your concerns.

The Township has received a growing number of complaints in recent weeks about daily odours coming from the landfill site. While Waste Management (WM) is responsible for tracking and reporting these complaints directly to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), we want to ensure residents know how to formally file a complaint and have their voice heard.

We’ve also heard frustration from residents who feel their concerns are being dismissed when complaints are filed, especially as WM moves through the Environmental Assessment process for its proposed landfill expansion. Many have raised concerns not only about odours, but also dust, debris on local roads, truck traffic, and noise. These complaints are critical to ensure the Ministry has a clear understanding of the day-to-day impacts on our community.

Even if WM claims the issue is not originating from the landfill, they are still required to log and report your formal complaint. And if the issue occurs more than once a day, each occurrence must be reported separately.

To file a formal complaint, you must include:

  1. Your full name
  2. Your address
  3. Your phone number
  4. The time and date of the incident
  5. A clear statement that this is a formal complaint
  6. A description of the issue (odour, dust, debris, traffic, noise, etc.)
  7. The location or area affected

Submit your complaint to:
