The Township of Warwick issues lottery licences for certain raffles, break open tickets, bingo events and bazaars. If you would like to host a different type of lottery please contact the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Only approved charitable organizations are eligible for lottery licences. Your charitable organization must complete an eligibility review if it is interested in applying for a lottery licence. Please contact the Clerk's Department if you are interested in completing an eligibility review.

Raffles |
A raffle lottery is a game where tickets are sold for a chance to win a prize at a draw. This includes 50/50 draws, elimination draws, penny sales and calendar draws. The Township of Warwick issues lottery licences for raffle events with a prize board of $50,000 or less. Organizations that have completed their eligibility review can bring the completed Application to Manage and Conduct a Raffle Lottery to the Township Office. You must submit a Raffle Lottery Report within 30 days of your event. |
Break open tickets |
A break open ticket is a device made of cardboard and which has perforated cover window tabs behind which are symbols revealed by tearing open the cover tab. The winning combination of symbols is specified on the back of the ticket. Break open tickets are also known as “Nevada tickets” or “pull tabs”. The Township of Warwick issues lottery licences for break open tickets not sold in conjunction with another gaming event. Organizations that have completed their eligibility review can bring the completed Break Open Ticket Licence Application to the Township Office. You must submit a Break Open Ticket Lottery Report within 30 days of your event. |
Bingo events |
Bingo events are lottery schemes where players purchase bingo paper and win prizes by being the first to complete specified arrangements or patterns of numbers on the bingo paper from numbers selected at random. The Township of Warwick issues lottery licences for bingo events with a prize board of up to $5,500. Organizations that have completed their eligibility review can bring the completed Application to Manage and Conduct a Bingo Lottery to the Township Office. You must submit a Bingo Lottery Report within 30 days of your event. |

Organizations that have completed their eligibility review can bring the completed Application to Manage and Conduct a Lottery Type Scheme at a Bazaar to the Township Office. You must submit a Bazaar Lottery Report within 30 days of your event. |
Catch the Ace |
A Catch the Ace progressive raffle lottery is a multiple-draw game in which participants purchase tickets for a chance to win:
The Township of Warwick issues lottery licences for Catch the Ace events with a prize board of $50,000 or less. Organizations that have completed their eligibility review can bring the completed Application to Manage and Conduct a Raffle Lottery to the Township Office. You must submit a Catch the Ace Raffle Report within 30 days of your event. |
Lottery licence fees |
The fee for each lottery licence is equal to 3% of the total prize. |
